OUR MISSION
The mission at SNAP is to prepare nurse anesthesiologists with advanced, specialized knowledge and skills to meet the health needs of diverse populations and to serve as health care leaders. Our graduates will provide their patients across the country with access to safe, effective, and high-quality anesthesia care, to improve clinical outcomes, and to enhance patient experiences.
OUR GOALS
ACADEMIC
The graduate will demonstrate critical thinking by integrating the didactic knowledge and clinical data to deliver culturally competent peri-anesthetic care throughout the anesthesia experience.
CLINICAL
The graduate will demonstrate clinical excellence by planning and administering a safe and physiologic anesthetic based on the synthesis of anesthetic principles across the lifespan and in a variety of clinical settings.
LEADERSHIP
The graduate will promote a collaborative academic community of students, faculty, and clinical instructors committed to lifelong learning, scholarly pursuits, and professionalism.
LEADERSHIP
As Executive Director, Dr. Caccamo oversees both the operations and the administrative functions of SNAP, LLC. These include oversight of the company’s clinical and non-clinical departments. She brings to her position more than 25 years of experience in clinical healthcare delivery and strategic business planning. Prior to joining SNAP, LLC, Dr. Caccamo held senior level executive positions at Envision, as well as at Christiana Care Health System. She holds multiple degrees, including an MBA and MHA, both earned at Wilmington University, Wilmington, DE, a DNP from Chatham University, and an MS in anesthesiology from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Dr. Woodruff serves as the Program Director of SNAP. She graduated from Georgetown University in 1994 with a bachelor’s in nursing. In 1998, she received her master’s in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and was certified as a Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Healthcare. Dr. Woodruff became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 2008 after graduating with her second master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2017, she received her DNP from Wilmington University. She is the State Peer Advisor for Pennsylvania through the AANA and is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetist Wellness Committee. Dr. Woodruff continues to practice clinically once a week.
Jess Hammond is a proud CRNA and earned her master’s and doctorate in nurse anesthesia from Virginia Commonwealth University. She serves as an Assistant Program Director for Ursuline College with SNAP, where she oversees clinical curriculum and supports the education of nurse anesthesia residents. She loves promoting her profession and is honored to care for patients in this role.
Dr. Wilson serves as the Assistant Program Director – East Coast of SNAP. He graduated in 1998 from Clemson University with a BS in Biology, in 2002 from Midlands Technical College with an ADN, in 2006 from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine with a Masters in Nurse Anesthesia, and in 2022 from the Medical University of South Carolina with his Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice. In 2023, Dr. Wilson was selected as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology and recently elected to serve on the AANA Leadership Identification Committee. He continues to practice clinically once a week.
BOARD MEMBERS
Marc E. Koch
MD, MBA, FASA
Dr. Koch is a licensed physician and a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology. He has authored more than a dozen articles and book chapters addressing the clinical and administrative aspects of office-based and ambulatory anesthesia. Considered an authority on both topics, he has been the subject of articles in The New York Times, Money magazine and Crain’s Health Pulse. He continues to address medical audiences at home and abroad. Dr. Koch is a former surveyor for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Dr. Koch earned his undergraduate and medical degrees with honors in pharmacology, genetics and surgery from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He served his residency at the Yale University School of Medicine following an internship at Winthrop University Hospital in New York. Additionally, he holds an MBA in finance and marketing from the Fordham University School of Business.
Robert C. Goldstein
MD
Dr. Goldstein oversees clinical operations for SNAP and evaluates the clinical efficacy of its quality and other performance-related initiatives. In this role, he also manages a clinical team of more than 325 anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, registered nurses and physician assistants. A licensed physician and Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, he brings to his position rich experience in both clinical and managerial functions. In addition to authoring numerous book chapters and articles, Dr. Goldstein has been called upon to address national and international audiences on the topic of anesthesia management. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Dr. Goldstein earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He completed his internship at Beth Israel Medical Center, and his residency at the Yale University School of Medicine. In addition to holding an executive post at SNAP, Dr. Goldstein has served as accreditation inspector for Medicare as well as for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
